Yes, if you're talking like Q16 vs LM Plus, I see an average around 2% or so so on a 800HP engine your looking at 15 to 18HP.

Are their down sides sure, so unless you really need that last bit of power I'd probably pass on it.

We r running a crate so we would be running chp from vp or the 113 from vp the distributor is tellin me they r the same just barreled up different

Same fuels now, you have to jet larger for them vs non oxygenated fuels to actually get the power increase, your carb and intake will sweat like when running methanol. A return style fuel system is needed or the fuel will boil (vapor lock) due to the low vapor point. Must be stored correctly to retain it's quality. Good stuff just have to maintain your fuel system like a car on methanol. As a plus you can usually run about 34* timing on a 604 GM crate, and it will make more power only if you are tuned for it, most noticeable in hot humid weather and on restarts. ......Then their is CHP+

What is the specific gravity of chp+

See recent thread in Crate Late Model section. Good info from Brad Hibbard.

What is the specific gravity of chp+

Specific Gravity: 0.740 at 60ºF

What exactly does that mean?

So is 0.745 more or less our rule is 0.745 or less

Specific Gravity is how heavy is it compared to pure water. Water is considered 1.0 so .745 is heavier than .740.
Average pump gas somewhere around .720 to .780 depending on region and winter/summer blends.

Very good! I was curious to what some would post. Being an owner in a chemical business for 30 plus years, I use that info every day.

If you want to know the weight of a product, just multiply the specific gravity times 8.33579(weight of pure water)

fyi......You can purchase a hydrometer for $10-25. Pour your fuel,or any other liquid, in a fairly tall container. Set the hydrometer in the fluid, and note the line level with the liquid. There are many lines with the specific gravity written on it (kinda like a thermometer). Just be sure to buy the one with the range of fluids to want to measure.

So is chp+ basically running alcohol?

Vp crate is the same as vp113

Chp is more volatile, lower octane and the reid preasure I believe is higher to help it vaporize . Chp+ is slightly higher than Chp .

Depending on what your trying to accomplish chp was created to help gains on crates they found vp113 helped the engine run a little cooler and had some general gains so they repackaged it as crate so the consumer would be less put off by the numbers.

Lm+ has some of the o2 components that vp113 has but has a better detonation character.

Lm+ is good fuel but you only need it if your past 15:1 . I've been using vp113 for the last 5 years in engines over 14:1. We opted though to cut it with lm+ on the big motor just to have some extra protection it didn't change the jetting at all so I'm thinking it's the same o2 as vp 113.

Not sure here, the original question was on ox fuel versus lmp, that is answered. On crates, 113 is too good a fuel for crates, too much octane. Oh sure it'll run in them, however, if you'll get a carb tuner to set your carb up for chp+ or chp, there is huge gains here. Careful, because some sanctioning bodies frown on chp+ because of the baddies in it.
