Trent Young Tames Summit Racing Equipment AMS Field at Chandler Motor Speedway
Chandler, IN (October 7, 2016)- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series would kick off a two-race weekend on Friday at Chandler Motor Speedway in Chandler, IN and current series points leader Trent Young would again find victory lane with the series and pick up the $1,500 payday. Young’s victory would again come behind the wheel of the Dave Mitchell owned Snap-
On Tools/Mitchell Tools and Motorsports/Ted Brown’s Quality Paint and Body/R&S Equipment
/Emma’s Place/Young’s Well Service/Kissinger Red Angus sponsored #10Y Bandit Race Car, SPEC
Race Engines powered entry.
Young, who was top qualifier and would win his heat race event, would drive to his sixth series victory of the 2016 campaign with his win in the event. Lucas Lee would finish in the runner-up position, while Tyler Nicely would complete the podium position finishers with a third place effort. Matt Cooper would race to a fourth place finish, while veteran Brian Shaw would round out the top five finishers with a fifth place performance.
The remainder of the top ten at the completion of the Chandler Motor Speedway A-Main event would be Zach Fair, Dustin Beck, ALLSTAR Performance Hard Charger Josh Harris, John Clippinger, and Mark Lamont.
In preliminary action, Trent Young was the Quick Car Racing Products top qualifier among 18 entries at 15.800 seconds. Summit Racing Equipment heat one went to Trent Young, while Brian Shaw scored the win in Fast Shafts heat two. Hypercoils heat three and Frankland Racing Equipment heat four was not need. The Out-Pace Race Products B-Mains were also not needed
