Tyler Erb Wins Again in Mississippi; Fall Classic Next

New Waverly, Texas (10/17/16) – For the second time in October Tyler Erb found himself in victory lane in the state of Mississippi in his First Class Septic #91 Rocket XR1 Chassis /Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model. His latest triumph came on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park, where he grabbed the $2,000 top prize with the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS).

“It was a pretty wild weekend, and I never would’ve thought Saturday night would find us in Mississippi – much less in victory lane there,” said Erb. “Our car was really good, and hopefully we can come back here next week and leave with $15,000.”

On Friday night Tyler Erb invaded Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) for the 36th annual Rhino Ag Dirt Track World Championship presented by Optima Batteries. With 79 entries registered the field was slated to compete in a pair of heat races. Unfortunately, Tyler suffered mechanical issues in his first heat race, bringing an early end to his night. As a result, the team decided to head south to try their luck in a different event on Saturday.

Making the 12-hour trip on Saturday, Tyler returned to action at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) for the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) sanctioned event. Bringing home his second straight MSCCS victory, Erb outdueled the field in the Mississippi State Championship A-Main, pocketing a cool $2,000 payday.

Tyler will return to Whynot Motorsports Park this weekend, October 20-22 to chase the $15,000 winner’s check in the 22nd annual Coors Light Fall Classic. The weekend opens with an open practice on Thursday evening, while prelims will be contested on Friday night. The mega-event draws to a close on Saturday evening with B-mains and the 100-lap finale.
