Craig Reece Memorial Set for October 29th at Boyd’s Speedway paying $3,500 to win

RINGGOLD, GA (October 23, 2016)—The Boyd’s Speedway will be honoring one of their former Crate Late Model drivers this Saturday October 29th with the running of the Craig Reece Memorial paying $3,500-to-win and $150-to-start.

In addition to the Crate Late Model special, the Steel Head Late Models will be racing for $1,200-to-win, the Sportsman will be competing for $600-to-win while the A-Hobby will be racing for $300-to-win and the B-Hobby division competing for $250-to-win.

The Craig Reece Memorial pays honor to the driver known as the “Dalton Bad Boy” who was a second generation racer from Dalton, Georgia. He amassed lots of victories at multiple race tracks in the North Georgia and surrounding areas during his racing career including a track championship in the Crate Late Model division at Dixie and Rome Speedways. He passed away in February at the age of 35.

The Crate Late Models will be racing for $3,500-to-win and $150-to-start on Saturday Night. The entry fee for the Crate division will be $100 per car. Officials from CT Promotions will be on hand to race direct the Crate Late Model portion of the program. The track tire rule for the Crate Late Models apply: Hoosier 1600 or American Racer MD56 on the rears, open fronts. Transponder rentals for all divisions will be $10.00 per car. Parking on the concrete pads in the pit area for race teams will be $20.00.

On Saturday October 29th, the pit gates will open at 3:00 pm, the grandstand gates will swing open at 4:00 pm. The drivers meeting will begin at 6:15 pm and hot laps will roll out immediately afterwards. Adult general admission is $12.00 per person while children 12 and under will be admitted free. Adult pit passes will be $30.00 per person while children 12 and under will be admitted for $10.00.

A Halloween Costume contest for children and adults will be held before the start of the evening’s activities at the National Title Pawn Victory Lane at 5:45 pm. There will also be a Meet and Greet near the Victory Lane area before the start of the racing action with drivers and their race cars being present for the race fans. Along with National Title Pawn, Advance Auto parts will be among the night’s sponsors.

Cody McCarver will sing the National Anthem during Saturday’s event. Christian Music Artist Cody McCarver is widely known for his career in country music and as an actor. Cody began his country music journey playing bass for Lynn Anderson (I Beg Your Pardon, I never Promised you a Rose Garden). Cody spent over a decade with the multi-platinum band Confederate Railroad. In 2010 he signed a recording contract and headed to Capital Studios in Los Angeles and began a country music solo career.
