Its 72 hours, and seems like 72 classes. They qualify everything but canoes and pogo sticks. You won't leave until Sunday morning, because they won't be finished any earlier than about 0330. The whole thing resembles a monkey fu(king a very large red clay colored football. It's been a punchline for years, albeit one with a good paying SLM show.

I love the 72 hours of Phenix City, my first major event back in 1986! That year Purvis, Bloomquist, Moyer and many other legends were all in the house. Good times! I've been absent for a few years, but I hope to be back very soon. Have a great time.

I went in 2014 for the first time, I didn't really think it was all that mismanaged. That is the year JD won, we were out of there by about 8 o'clock sunday night after the SLM feature. There is a ton of racing, some of those Sunday afternoon features are pretty interesting.

I believe Friday and Saturday results determine the Sunday 100 lap starting line up. Similar to many other bigger race formats. I like the changes!

Bloomer, Cooley & a few others only got 1 lap because of being late. About 5 cars were left in the lineup before 0 even came off the jack in his pit. 0 is parked kinda sideways between Jake Knowles & Tom Maddox. Must be better zen energy there. It's about black from the bottom to top.

I 100% get they aren't used to the surface, being extremely slick. JD went from the bottom to the top and kinda started that Bloomer deal. By no means am I faulting JD. But I can pretty much see why Bloomer and Madden ain't parking next to each other. Looked incidental at first, but then as if he gunned it and drove through him to finish it. But Bloomer did a 360, didn't hit a thing and kept going, and because they assumed chaos, they threw a caution. But he started back in front of Bonfire so oh well, they both were non factors.

I didn't see bloomer in the top 10, heck I figured he had pulled off the track and then they came around to lap him, I was surprised he didn't pull in. Band had a window net to get down first. A real fire crew, of about 6, took a bit to respond. Someone got an extinguisher from the pits to put it out. Monkey and football comes to mind for the fire crew! Now, the one and only tow truck Broke!

And they bottled up on a slick track, no biggee. They kinda just met on backstretch and Madden just stayed in the throttle. Gained neither nothing but less Christmas presents.

And the garbage Madden has done forever on the track and in the pits, his temper tantrums, he ain't no saint either. We aren't talking about Dale McDowell here. But there is definitely bad blood seemingly brewing there.

Good morning racing for consis. Super street feature to 44 Cat. Street stock to 07 Pate. Good races. Both won mainly on the top. Without some of the cautions, the races would've been great! Track going away for limited feature.
