Are the Bert and Brinn couplers interchangeable? Thank you.

No they are not. Whatever coupler/flywheel you have, has to match the bellhousing. if you have a bert coupler in a brinn bellhousing you will have starter engagement issues, and vice versa. The trans doesn't matter, can go with either bellhousing.

The starter idler is the only part that has to match. Otherwise the belhousing are identical.
You can use either hub/flywheel as long as you have a matching starter idler gear.
As far as transmission goes yes both transmission will work on either drive hub.

a brinn bell will not work with a bert flywheel. a bert flywheel is smaller diameter and will take the teeth off i a couple of start ups.

If you Change the idler it will absolutely work.

This is correct,as the Brinn bell,is a copy of the Bert.
