When arriving at the Pit Entry with the race car, the driver enters free of charge. All others in the tow vehicle pay the normal ticket price. If a driver arrives separately from their race car they will be required to pay for admission.

In the USA, racing participants pay and pay and pay: pit passes, entry fees, tires and fuel sold by the track, and repairs to damages sustained. Is there another sport where the participants pay so much? And win so little? Ronnie Johnson says racers have to spend $150 to win $100.

Someone has to pay the bills...

Golf comes to mind. It's certainly not cheap, especially if you want to get good at it.

In the sports car road racing we pay up to $500 entry fee with no prize money. If we hit a guard rail we pay $200 a section for repairs. If you oil the track, it's $50 a bag of floor dry and labor to clean up before they let you back on track. We get a 30 minute warm up, 15 minute of qualifying, and a 30-40 minute race. We do it for the love of racing.

At dirt tracks, the car and driver are providing the entertainment so they should be admitted free. All other pit members and/or groupie spectators should pay posted pit fees.

You always hear of fan appreciation night, I always hoped someone would do something to help the drivers out if only once a year.

Our sport is a mess... drivers/owners spend too much... we buy parts that do nothing but drive up the cost of racing and cause good people to leave the sport.

Promoters have forgotten how to promote... FB isn't the only way to get fans in the stands.

Insurance rates for tracks have fallen in the last 20 years but pit prices have risen because the back gate now pays the bills... not enough fans in the stands.
