Always wanted one, makes sense in principal. But has anyone actually put one of these on a sbc?

This may go on a street engine mind you.

Changing a cam right now, detuning a 383 a bit, got a 8 inch aftermarket elastomer balancer now, was thinking of putting a 6.25" fluid damper on but dont want to just waste my money.

Any thoughts? Is there a noteable difference in the fluid balancer?

I would avoid the Fluid damper and go ATI as Stock car driver suggested. I have had excellent results with ATI, whereas I have had both broken main caps and and oil pumps with Fluid dampers.

I agree I don't care for the Fluiddampers either if you have ever spun one in a crankshaft balancer you would think they are a joke, as they are never the same.

You won't go wrong with ATI. Powerbond also has a good product and some less expensive ones that may be fine for a street car.
