Delaware, Maryland, Virginia Collide On First State Soil Thursday, May 11 At Georgetown With Super Late Model Tri-State Challenge GEORGETOWN, DE – Delaware, Maryland and Virginia will clash on First State soil Thursday, May 11 with the first annual Tri-State Challenge. A 40-lap Super Late Model event offering $4,000 to the winner will headline the program, kicking off three consecutive nights of racing for the division, battling at Georgetown Thursday (May 11) before venturing to Potomac Speedway in Budd’s Creek, Md., Friday (May 12) and Winchester Speedway on Saturday (May 13). The weekend is particularly lucrative for Super Late Model teams. The Georgetown event offers $4,000 to win and $400 just to take the green flag for the posted 40-lap distance. On Friday at Potomac, the Ernie Jones Memorial offers a $3,022 winner’s share for 40 laps, while a $3,500 top prize awaits the victor of the Lee Stultz Memorial 40-lapper on Saturday at Winchester. Each speedway will contribute $500 toward a mini-series point fund for the three nights of racing. At the end of the weekend, the top-three drivers in overall points will be paid as follows: $750, $500, $250. There will be additional contingency awards for drivers with perfect attendance. Super Late Models will follow standard Potomac/Winchester/Delaware International rules. Post-race weight, with driver, is 2,250 lbs. Accepted tire compounds are Hoosier 1300 or harder or American Racer 44 or harder. Joining the Super Late Models at Georgetown are the newly sanctioned RUSH Crate Late Models ($1,000 to win), Delmarva Chargers and Delaware Super Trucks. Pit gates will open at 4 p.m., with grandstand gates unlocked at 5 p.m., hot laps at 6:20 p.m. and racing at 7:15 p.m. Adult grandstand admission is $20. Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 13-17) pay $16. Kids 9-12 pay $10 and Children eight and under are FREE. Pit admission is $35 (ages 13 and up), $10 (ages 6-12) and $2 (five and under).
