Does the old rule thumb still play in affect for mods on 4 bar like say stiffen lr to get more drive or would benifets be better with softer lr say 175 versus 225 I'm on 200 now and it's preloaded a lot just wondering which route be better

Neither is always right. Depends on a lot of variables. How are you preloaded a lot with a 200? Sounds like you have tons of wedge, not much drop, or both.

Little over 100 pounds and standard 4 inch drop

Want more drive? Get the lr of the car in the air. I know typically, a mod has shorter bars so they run less drop than a late model. But some of them are going on towards double that .

16 inch spring that's 13 1/8 total height with lr off ground so compressed bout 3 inches

There are numerous Mark Bush articles about this debate.... IMHO.....cars that hike don't play by the "stiffer spring gets the weight" rule....nothing stiffer than the 2 LR bars...... use a 150# LR spring.... it will be loaded more to get ride height that promotes hike... loosen the chain on LR....... LR spring only knows how much total weight it is holding up., not how far the Eliminator is tightened up..... ( unless it gets to coil bind ) which is bad....

Increase the hike, lengthen ls bars 1/4-1/2 inch. If ur still not there bolt on a 25lb piece of lead to the axle tube.If its illegal, try it on a test night or don't worry about it on a reg nite. There are several ways to put it there, legally.
