Oakshade raceways gets 50 late models for a 4000 to win show. Wow. Nw Ohio is still alive in the late model class.

I've been to Oakshade. It's hard to call some of those cars true super late models. Maybe it's changed the last few years and they're all legit now.

Fremont had 29 but roughly 8 of them 602 crates.

Not sure in that area, but around me, most junk is gone with the new unified safety rules.

All legit? True super late models? Not sure what your trying to get at? Just look at the feature rundown. This was the American Ethanol Series first visit to Oakshade, and even with less that expected track conditions, the event was Flat Out Awesome. Look at the finish order in the non qualifiers race. Really good cars didn't even make the feature. By the way, what a cool deal that is for the AELMT to pay $500 for the non qualifiers at every event they draw 30 or more cars. Unheard-of in a regional series.

I know a big majority of the active members here are "star gazers" and don't even comment on anything that isn't LOLMDS,WoO, Crown Jewel, Bloomquist or Bobby Pierce, there is a whole nother World of dirt racing going on in every division, and it's awesome!

50 cars, 5 heat races, 3 lcq's, a $500 to win non qualifier and the 40 lap LM AELMT feature all For $12. I'm sorry folks, it just doesn't get much better than that!

Oh, wait, it's Oakshade! $5300 to win Barney Oldfield August 12, $12! $5000 to win UMP Summernational's on Friday, June 15, $12! $10,000 to win UMP Summernational's Finale and Crowning of the Champion, you got it, $12

What are some of the other things that Oakshade does that makes them so well renowned ?? I've never been there, but the track is always talked about in a good light

The food at oakshade is excellent also. The place is a dump but its great, i think thats what makes it special. Of the 50 late models there last, 40 were good and thats better then anywhere else for a local show.

$20 pit pass no matter what the show is... That really helps a racer that pays for his crews passes.

I'm shocked Schlenk didn't run this race?

Schlenk is running ALMS points. It pays better at the end of the year.

actually ethanol series pays out a lot better through the top 10 in points and per show, but the only person Rusty has to compete with on ALMS is himself, is anyone else even running the full series?? -----------------------Ethanol payout- 1 $10,000.00, 2 $8,000.00, 3 $6,000.00, 4 $5,000.00, 5 $4,000.00, 6 $3,000.00, 7 $2,000.00, 8 $1,800.00, 9 $1,600.00, 10 $1,400.00 ----------------------------------ALMS payout- 1-$10,000.00, 2- $5000.00, 3- $3000.00, 4- $2000.00, 5- $1500.00, 6- $1000.00, 7- $600.00, 8- $500.00, 9- $400.00, 10- $300.00

The ALMS does not pay better at the end of the year. The Ethanol is a much better series and more competitive in my opinion. The ALMS is too spread out and their payouts are a joke. I'm thinking Rusty got behind the 8 ball early in the AELMS so he bailed and is concentrating on burning up $5k in fuel running all over the mid west racing for a $10,000 championship.

BigE- pretty much what he said in victory lane last night. Going to hit the ethanol races when they don't conflict with alms and some sn shows.

Do math..... Alms 10k win plus 3rd in ethanol is 16k. Win ethanol and 2nd in alms is 15k. Seems to me to be money more way he going about it

Who is footing he travel bill? Him or Rayburn?

ThebigE
06-27-2017, 06:18 AM
Don't know the answer to that one. Hopefully he has some help with the traveling expenses because driving as much as he does to race for $2000 to win doesn't pay the bills after you take out your expenses. At least I wouldn't think so.

Oakshade does a good job with car counts. Great price to get in, great food, and a smooth program.
