Rough Driving at Fairbury

Was it just me, or did anyone else notice the rough Driving in the Late Models at Fairbury last night?

No he didn't drive through Manville. He got him in the right rear corner was it his fault yes but, to say he drove right through him is incorrect now the other guy yes he did drive right through him.

Glad to see there are other guys on the tour this year that are showing that he ain't the best. If Moyer and Babb run the whole tour, I don't see Bobby winning the points this time.

Not at all. I enjoy watching a race where there is a cushion. The show at Spoon River the other night was as good as a track can be.

What I don't enjoy is a car that looks like a dart with no feathers. That's Bobby when there's no cushion. And I also don't think too highly of it when mommy or daddy throw tantrums when things don't go their way.

I think Shannon is a lock to stay on the tour now as good as he's running. Lets hope Billy does the same. That, along with Bobby, will make for a tight points battle. Now that everybody has had the main course of $#!T, back to the topic of dirty driving...assuming this was directed toward Bobby's 2 incidents.
Manville??? He was a story just waiting to unfold. He was either overdriving the car or was just lose as a goose all night. I KNEW that one was coming from someone sooner or later and it happened with Bobby.
The other backmarker he spun definitely got punted but it looked worse than it appeared. These guys are told if they come to a stop, they go to the rear. If they don't come to a COMPLETE stop, they get their spot back. That's why guys drive through guys, staying in thee gas making it look more aggressive than it really was.
Bottom line is, he spun 2 guys out, went to the rear, took his penalty, and raced to a decent finish. I've looked, and I've seen nothing negative from him in any form of social media. He did post, finished 9th at FALS on to Tri-State.

Some people have a whole lot of negativity going on in their lives.

I talked to Shannon after the race last night and asked him what his plans were for the rest of the tour. He pretty much said that he was still just taking it one race at a time.

He will be taught how to respect others on the track in due time. Either he will learn it on his own or the other drivers will teach him. It's nothing a lot of other drivers haven't gone through. Like I said for me I'm not going to dislike like him because of others don't. I will call him or his team out when I see fit me but, that doesn't mean others might see it the way I do. The young man is very talented for sure. I like his aggressiveness but, he will need to learn to be a little patient at times and I realize sometimes that's a fine line.

Battling Simpson for the third spot in heavy traffic, Pierce made contact with the lapped car of Tim Manville. Manville spun, bringing out the second caution of the night on Lap 28.
Pierce said he had been following a slower Manville for several laps and "barely tagged" him.
Race officials determined that Pierce was responsible for the mishap and assessed a track position penalty that left the Oakwood driver fuming.
"It seems like it's always something here and it always goes back to one thing, the Fairbury officials," Pierce said. "The bad thing is, these Fairbury officials are the ones making the calls and everyone knows they don't like me here, so whether it's right or wrong they're going to do it."

Pierce said he believes that other front-runners have skated in similar circumstances at other tracks in the series this year, including an incident involving El Paso's Ryan Unzicker and Larson at Sycamore.
"Nothing against Ryan, I love Ryan. But he took out Larson, hit him in the quarter panel and spun him around and Ryan gets his spot back," Pierce said. "Well, if they're going to do that in the same series, why don't they do that now? They have to figure out whether they're going to make it one way or not. You can't keep going back and forth and do this for this guy and that for that guy. I think we had a good shot at this race."

I returned to racing after 35 years away it's not a late model but it still takes all I can save to do it. One thing I said when I said when I decided to do it again was I was not gonna take no crap from the little punk s sure enough had to teach one a lesson opening nite after he body slammed me coming off corner could have totaled his car but didn't only because I cracked throttle after he came across in front of me. Point is someone is gonna make pierce pay and it's gonna be ugly but he has it coming.

I was at Macon that night that Babb stuffed Pierce. I think that is the only time I've seen Babb do something like that & it was a role reversal from the Belle Clair deal a few days before. Definitely seemed he was sending a message that night at Macon. Given that those 2 haven't had a big run in since then, it seems the point was made.

Just who makes the calls at these Summer Nats races anyway. Does the Track or WOO?The track does not make these calls...UMP officials make these calls. This had nothing to do with the track just to clarify for everyone!! I'm also heard that UMP came over and talked to Pierce after this interview and said that the call was made by them and that they messed up with making that call. I will state, I'm not a Pierce fan, but I do respect him and his talent. Do I think he took out Manville...no. Do I think it is a racing deal...yes. I have seen this happen at quite a few tracks. Sometimes people even have to go back and see it on video for the second time to actually see what happened. I know too well that emotions and tempers can flare and get the best of many as I know mine has as well...but this is all just my opinion as I know the rest of you have yours.
