Kent Robinson Tops Tri-City for Win #3

Bloomington, Indiana (07/05/17) – Kent Robinson picked up his third win of 2017 on Friday night in his Billy Moyer Victory Race Car #7r JB’s Salvage/ Jay (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)ens Racing Engine Super Late Model. The victory came after a rainout sent him to Tri-City Speedway.

“Sometimes, it’s funny how things work out because Friday morning we had no idea we would be in action at Tri-City Speedway that night,” Robinson noted. “However, after the World of Outlaws show got nixed by rain at Terre Haute, we decided to stop there on our way to Pevely. I’m obviously glad that we did because it proved to be a great night for our team.”

After Mother Nature ruined his initial plans at Terre Haute Action Track (Terre Haute, Indiana), Kent Robison headed to Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Illinois) on Friday for to compete in the Weekly Racing Series Event. In a field of 21 entries, Robinson followed up the second fastest time in his qualifying group with a heat race win.

Bringing home a second place finish in the dash, Kent earned a front row starting position for the A-Main. Wheeling his way to the front, Kent Robinson reeled in his third win of the season, which came over Gordy Gundaker, Mark Voigt, Rusty Griffaw, and Claude Walker.

On Saturday night Kent visited Federated Raceway at I-55 (Pevely, Missouri) for the World Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series and the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour showdown. With 41 Super Late Models registered, Robinson edged his way into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with the 4th and final transfer spot in his heat race. Starting in 13th, Kent Robinson jumped up two spots in the 50-lapper to place 11th.
