Dustin Strand Doubles Up at River Cities

Grand Forks, North Dakota (07/05/17) –Dustin Strand parked his RealTruck.com #71 Schill Construction/ Q&Z Plumbing & Heating/ Millenium Chassis Late Model in Victory Lane not once but twice on Friday night at River Cities Speedway.

“As tough as competition is these days it’s a big deal to get one win, much less two on the same night,” Strand said. “River Cities Speedway has been really good to me throughout my career and Friday night was no exception. Special thanks goes out to all of the sponsors and supporters, who make my program possible.”

Kicking off the holiday weekend, Dustin Strand visited Red River Co-op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) on Thursday night for the unsanctioned Canada Day Celebration. In a field of 12 Super Late Models, Strand gained two positions in his heat race to place 4th.

Rolling off 7th for the feature, Dustin wheeled his way into a podium spot, posting a 3rd-place outing behind Bill Mooney and Ricky Weiss with Rick Fawcett and Mike Balcaen completing the Top-5 finishers.

The following night Strand headed to River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota) for a pair of Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA) sanctioned features. In a field of 26 competitors, Dustin charged to a heat race win from 4th-starting spot, positioning him 2nd on the starting grid for the feature. Outrunning the field in the 25-lapper, Dustin Strand streaked to his eighth win of the season and a $1,100 payday. Donny Schatz, Bill Mooney, Ricky Weiss, and Zach Naastad rounded out the Top 5.

Later that night for the rescheduled NLRA feature from June 16th, Strand started on the front row alongside Joey Pederson. Leading wire-to-wire, Dustin Strand cruised to his second win of the night and ninth on the season, topping Donny Schatz, Ricky Weiss, Brad Seng, and Bill Mooney at the finish line. Strand was awarded his second $1,100 payday of the night for his dominant performance in the 25-lap affair.
