Dennis Erb Racing in Carolinas and Tennessee this Weekend for Lucrative Triple Shot

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team is currently in the Southeast for a trio of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series shootouts from July 6-8 in the Carolinas and Tennessee. The triple shot of dirt-slinging action will get underway later tonight at Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, North Carolina, as a $10,000 winner’s check will be on the line in the ‘Wayne Gray, Sr. Memorial.’ Another $10,000 to win battle will then commence on Friday evening at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina, while the tripleheader is scheduled to conclude on Saturday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee with the $12,000 to win ‘Mountain Moonshine Classic.’ Dennis Erb, Jr. comes into these three pivotal point races eighth in the latest version of the LOLMDS Championship standings. Dennis and his #28 team are fresh off three Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdowns, which were held in the Buckeye State of Ohio from July 1-3. At Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio in the ‘Independence 60’ last Saturday, Dennis ran third in his heat race, but lost brakes in the $12,000 to win headliner and wound up slipping back to a fourteenth place finish. In the inaugural running of the ‘Freedom 50’ on Sunday at Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio, Dennis placed second in heat race action before recording a solid tenth place showing in the 50-lapper, which carried a $10,000 payday.

The Independence Day weekend finale then took place on Monday at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio where another $12,000 top prize was up for grabs. Dennis stopped the clock eighth fastest in Group A during the qualifying session, but later experienced terminal mechanical woes in his heat race. After taking a provisional and unloading a back-up car, which was a brand-new Black Diamond Chassis, the Carpentersville, Illinois ace made some strides up through the pack during the attrition-filled 60-lap feature before eventually retiring in the twelfth position.
