Summit Racing Equipment AMS Summer Shootout at Ponderosa July 14, Hope for Harlie Benefit at Cedar Ridge July 15

Glasgow, KY- July 7, 2017 (www.americanmodifiedseries.com) - The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will return to action with a weekend doubleheader of racing competition in the Bluegrass state of Kentucky with the Summer Shootout at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday July 14 and the Hope for Harlie Benefit at Cedar Ridge Speedway in Morgantown, KY on Saturday July 15. Both events will pay $2,000 to win and $200 to start.

The weekend begins at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY on Friday July 14 with the Summer Shootout event that will see the tour in competition in a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B Mains, and the 30 lap, $2,000 to win/$200 to start Summer Shootout A-Main event. Other divisions in action at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday July 14 will be the track’s Super Late Model, Pro (Crate) Late Model, KDRA Super Stock, Stock Four Cylinder, and Mini-Cup/Cyclone divisions. Entry fee for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series is $50. All drivers that start a B-Main, but do not transfer to the A-Main, will receive $50 tow money. Ponderosa Speedway does uses transponders for timing/scoring purposes and the rental fee for a transponder is $10

Activities for the Friday July 14 Summer Shootout event at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area open and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., with practice beginning at 7:20 p.m., followed by time trials and green flag racing. All times EDT. Ticket prices at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday July 14 in the general admission will be $20 for adults, with children ages 12 and under free, while a pit pass will be $35, with children ages 6 to 12 being $15, with children ages 5 and under free.

The weekend concludes at Cedar Ridge Speedway in Morgantown, KY on Saturday July 15 with the Hope for Harlie Benefit with the series in action in a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B Mains, and the 30 lap, $2,000 to win/$200 to start Hope for Harlie Benefit A-Main event. Other divisions in action at Cedar Ridge Speedway on Saturday July 15 will be the track’s Street Stock, Cruiser, Rusty Bolts, Mini-Stock, E-Mods, and Bomber divisions. Entry fee for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series is $50. All drivers that start a B-Main, but do not transfer to the A-Main, will receive $50 tow money.

Activities for the Saturday July 15 event at Cedar Ridge Speedway will see the pit area and general admission area open at 2:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 5:30 p.m., with practice beginning at 5:45 p.m., followed by time trials at 6:30 p.m., with green flag racing to follow immediately after time trials. All times CDT. Ticket prices at Cedar Ridge Speedway on Saturday July 15 in the general admission will be $12 for adults, with children ages 8 and under free, while a pit pass will be $35, with children ages 5 to 10 being $15, and children ages 4 and under free.
