ELM CITY, NC – A weather forecast with a high percentage of rain this evening forced the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series South East Region and County Line Raceway officials to postpone tonight’s $4,000-to-win, $400-to-start race. The rescheduled date for later in the season will be announced in the coming days.
“This is our third straight rainout, and in the first two, we had teams tow long distances only to not get to race,” ULTIMATE SE Director Kelley Carlton said. “With a weather forecast stating us in the face with a high percentage of rain, we decided it would be best for our teams to postpone the race early in the day so they wouldn’t have to make another seven hour tow, only to be sent home without racing. We will look for a date later in the year and do our best to see that it works for everyone as best as we can.”
County Line Raceway is located in Eastern North Carolina, while the top two drivers in the ULTIMATE SE point standings are several hours away. ULTIMATE SE point leader Tyler Millwood is from Cartersville, GA, and the second-place driver, Jason Welshan, is from Maryville, TN.
The next two events on the 2017 ULTIMATE SE schedule will be a pair of $4,000-to-win, $400-to-star races on Friday night, July 28 at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA and at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA on Saturday night, July 29. The Lavonia Speedway race will be co-sanctioned with the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series.
