CARNESVILLE, GA – It will be over a month off and three rainouts since the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series South East Region racers have turned a lap of competition. They are chomping at the bit and singing “Georgia On My Mind” for their next two races, a pair of $4,000-to-win, $400-to-start races with $38,000 in prize money up for grabs.

The action begins with Round 11 on the 2017 ULTIMATE SE schedule on Friday night, July 28 at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA, and then it’s Round 12 on Saturday night, July 29 at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA.

The complete payout for each race is as follows: 1. $4,000; 2. $2,000; 3. $1,350; 4. $1,000; 5. $875; 6. $775; 7. $700; 8. $600; 9. $500; 10. $450; 11. $425; 12. $400; 13. $400; 14. $400; 15. $400; 16. $400; 17. $400; 18. $400; 19. $400; 20. $400; 21. $400; 22. $400; 23. $400; 24. $400. M&W Transport will put up $200 each night for the Fast Time Award.

The Lavonia Speedway race will be co-sanctioned with the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series and is the rescheduled date from a May 20 rainout. The Dixie Speedway race is a rescheduled race from a May 6 rainout.

Unfortunately, the word rainout has been an operative word during the 2017 ULTIMATE SE season. The series has endured three straight rainouts dating back to June 24 with the rainout of the Rattlesnake Shake at Dublin Motor Speedway in Dublin, NC.

The next washout occurred on July 1 at Laurens County Speedway in Laurens, SC. The Laurens County Speedway race has been rescheduled for Friday night, August 25. The ULTIMATE SE Tour’s third straight rainout was on July 8 at County Line Speedway in Elm City, NC.

One would have to turn back the calendar to June 17 to find the last date the ULTIMATE SE Region completed a 2017 event. John Ownby of Cleveland, TN took the win at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA. The completion of that race left in its wake a Championship point battle with just 35 points separating the top three.

Let’s hope ULTIMATE SE officials can have some successful Peace Talks with Mother Nature, so that the Championship point battle can continue with Round 11 on July 28 at Lavonia Speedway and for Round 12 of the 2017 season on July 29 at Dixie Speedway.

Tyler Millwood of Cartersville, GA leads the ULTIMATE SE standings and the Autolite/Fram/DirtOnDirt.com Rookie of the Year standings with 305 points and Jason Welshan of Maryville, TN is second with 288 points. The defending and two-time ULTIMATE Champion Dennis “Rambo” Franklin of Gaffney, SC is third with 270 points.

Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA is fourth with 233 points, and three-time ULTIMATE Champion Casey Roberts of Toccoa, GA is fifth with 178 points. Brett Hamm of Newberry, SC is sixth in the ULTIMATE SE standings and second in the Autolite/Fram/DirtOnDirt.com Rookie of the Year standings with 157 points.

Another two-time 2017 ULTIMATE race winner, Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA is ninth with 137 points, and 2011 ULTIMATE Champion Chris Ferguson of Mt.
