Billy Moyer Rocks Little Rock for $5,000 Victory; Silver Dollar Nationals Ahead!

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) dropped into I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas on Saturday night, July 15 and walked away with their sixth feature win of the 2017 racing season in the annual running of the 'Rockabilly 45!' Billy Moyer won his heat race in preliminary action and later started the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) sanctioned headliner from the outside of the front row. Billy then grabbed the point at the drop of the green flag in the 45-lap affair and proceeded to pace the field for each and every circuit en route to capturing the $5,000 payday. Finishing behind his illustrious #21 machine were Robert Baker, Jack Sullivan, Jared Landers, and Garrett Alberson!

Earlier in the weekend, a $10,000 winner's check was on the line on Friday evening, July 14 at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over the 'NAPA Know How 50,' which drew a talented field of 32 competitors to the St. Louis-area venue. Billy tripped the clock third quickest in Group B during qualifying prior to running second in his stacked heat race. The Batesville, Arkansas Hall of Famer then knocked down a solid tenth place performance in the 50-lap main event. Complete results from both weekend races can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com and www.compdirt.com.

“It was a good win for us, as I haven’t ran at Little Rock a ton in the past,” quoted Moyer, who now has 822 career feature triumphs. “I was a little concerned on how tires would hold up, so I didn’t push things too hard and still had a pretty fast hotrod. There are a lot of big money races coming up and it would be nice to get on a little roll here.”

Next up on the schedule for the famed #21 BMR team will be a visit to I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska on July 21-22 for the 7th Annual ‘Silver Dollar Nationals.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series biggie will start on Friday with two sets of qualifying heat races, as passing points will determine the lineup for Saturday’s racing events.

B-Mains and the $3,000 to win ‘Belt Bash’ non-qualifiers race will proceed the 80-lap ‘Silver Dollar Nationals’ finale. A gargantuan $53,000 top prize has been established in the mega-event, which also pays at least $1,700 to each of the thirty feature starters. Billy has transferred into each of the previous six versions of the ‘Silver Dollar Nationals’ and drove to an impressive runner-up showing last year behind only victor Jonathan Davenport.
