Saw that Bloomer skipped his DoD recap interview again. Anyone know why? Seems quite a few times this happened when he has not won. Not trying to start something but don't know why he avoids them on "bad"nights

Maybe this goes along with the theory about his Lucas oil sticker being so small on his car...

Probably had to get busy fixing the hole that got blown in the side of his hauler (see other thread). He's easy to dislike, I don't own one of his t-shirts, but the man works his tail off. Does it all his self with a fairly small crew.

Half the time he can't even spit the words out he's lookin for, seems like closing his eyes tend to help him figure out what he wants to say. If he doesn't have a prepared one liner to drop in with the other stuff his interviews aren't anything special anymore. I'll take a Francis, t-mac or McDowell interview over Scotts anyday regardless of finishing position. Just my thoughts......

I always thought he was watching skeeters fly around the light on the cam during his interviews. Micheal and those guys really need to invest in some skeeter repellent, so Scott can concentrate on what he wants to say, instead of watching skeeters.

I think he's just kinda socially awkward and public speaking isn't a strong suit and he knows it so he avoids it when he can.

In my opinion Scott comes off a little arrogant but if I was as good as him I would be (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)y too..I personally enjoy his interviews but ya be gracious in defeat its ok to admit you got beat dont skip the interview if you dont win....

Man, I really wonder wtf you guys are going to do when he retires. I mean, everyone cries about Bloomer doing this or that, but then you gobble up this BS like Jenna Jameson.

I mean carry on, lemme know what he had for dinner when y'all examine his sh!t next.

He's not obligated to speak and he owes you or I nothing. I myself couldn't care less if he skips an intereview or not. It's sad in a way I feel bad for some of you guys when I read these uneducated post.

If you read my original post it says I am not trying to start anything and I thought he ran real well in getting all the way back to forth. Simply just wanted to hear what he had to say. Don't get all butt hurt over a question and a post about Bloomer and say he owes us nothing. Just a question. If you don't wanna read the post then don't click on it.

The old I'm not trying to start nothing trick right after you say he does this quite often after he doesn't win. You nevery said anything as in I would really like to hear what he had to say.

I would have liked to hear what his excuse was. I'll go out on a limb and say it would have been something to the affect of "We lost our best tire in that explosion. We'd been prepping it all week. It blew up. Put us behind the speedball, I mean the 8 ball. We just uh, yeah, my dad used to be a pilot."

He avoids interviews often on DoD. That is just fact. I was at I-80 And it was a great race. He was hauling the nail the last 20 laps and could have made it interesting with a caution. That is all. Wanted to hear his take. Nothing more and nothing less.

I like his interviews, as he chooses his words wisely. If you listen closely, he usely gives hints at what particular area of handling he adjusted on!

Just throwing it out there.... Maybe he didn't know he was gonna get interviewed. DoD usually interviews the top 3, he got 4th. There was sure a crowd waiting for him after the races Saturday night.

Caution with 12 or 13 to go and ended up 4th. Not sure what else you wanted for him?

Bloomer would not be racing if his fans didn't buy his shirts! He said many times that he able to race because his fans buy his apparel! So he should take a five minutes for a interview! If these drivers don't have fans then we have no sport!

Fan here:D I haven't stoped shelling out cash for a shirt now and then. Many are wearing his latest apparel. He's big business in this sport. I don't give a truck if he doesn't do certain interviews. If he felt beter left unsaid... I'm good with that.

I will chime in on this topic with my two pennies worth but first of all, how in the hell did a famous pornstarlet get her name mentioned on this topic, huh chupp ? Granted Jenna is still kinda' hot, but for god's sake, you coulda' used my favorite Christy Canyon and (still) made your point ! :)

As for Scott, this site is over 20 years old now, and people of 1997 were typing the same ol' stuff about him way back then, and its still going on even today. The man has staying power and always will for as long as he keeps racing and that is a testament to his popularity in our sport. I agree there's times he can be bombastic as all hell ( like at Cedar Lake a few years back ) but from talking to him quite a few times in the numerous races I've been to he doesn't come off to me as a guy you wouldn't want to have a beer and a chaser with. Last time I talked to him was last year at Eldora and he made me laugh for a good ten minutes about all the speculation and bullsheet that is written and said about him. So in conclusion, he understands that there's those out there who don't like him, but he also knows that he still has hundreds of thousands or so who respect him for what he has done in our sport. I have a strong feeling that there is no one in this sport will ever come close to what he has achieved; I know I've enjoyed it ( except for that night at Cedar Lake ) which I told him about and all he said was " well, I did enjoy the hell outa' that 50 grand " !

I'm also a fan of bloomquist have met him many times over the years and honestly don't care if he interviews or not. Just because I buy his shirt does not say I deserve anything from him! If you get mad and feel cheated because you bought a shirt that's sad. Like I said I have met him many times and have all good experiences with him and he takes the time to speak to you when you stop by his trailer, hell his wife even took my daughter on their ATV to get hotdogs and he earned a lifetime fan because of that.

What happened at Cedar Lake?

7 August 2010

He wins the Cedar Lake race and gets out of his car in victory lane and hollers, " how'd you all like that ass kickin " which to me was a joke because only 5 cars finished the race ( 0, Moyer, Chub, JD, and Vaught, and all five were on the lead lap ) out of the 26 who started because the track wasn't up to its usual standards, in other words, it was terrible. But to me the comment was uncalled for because what the hell, you only beat five cars and you didn't exactly kick their ass as you hollered out. Like the old coach Paul Brown used to say " act like you've been there before "; be happy that you won, but don't disparage your competition.

I think the best interview ever was after the window net debacle....2014 World was it? When he sat there calmly and said "I would have lapped the field that's what would've happened"....I just sat there and smirked and was thinking to myself..."He is right"

How many cars finished that night at cedar lake? Like 8 or 10? Im thinking the track was a total corn field, and Babb rolled after he had led most of the race. That was a dumb comment imo. If he would've said that after the 14 world, it would've been a lot more fitting. Instead he said something about having the fastest race car in the world, which was a true statement and very fitting.

I like when he wrapped up the lucas title in dixie in 09 and did hid DoD interview and got off on handicapping and snowboarding and football. "If.....if..... if youre a star footba........if...... if youre a snowboarder and youre in your prime you shouldnt have to start on a shorter ground" and during that time of course he was talking with his hands and waving the mic around.

Easy there.....I meant, wasn't Scotts comment directed to Jimmy. They had a little dust up over prepped tires if I remember correctly.
