Cory Hedgec ock Triples Up on Weekend Wins
Loudon, Tennessee (07/24/17) – Cory Hedgec ock pocketed a trio of wins last week. The wins came in his Cushman #23 Valley Transport/Rocket Chassis XR1/ Eagle Racing Engine Late Model and Shadden Motorsports #9 Rocket Chassis Late Model. The hat-trick weekend of victories pushed his 2017 tally to 18.
“It was a really busy week for our team, but everyone’s hard work paid off with three more wins to show for our efforts,” Hedgec ock commented. “Both of these Rocket Chassis are rolling really good right now. I appreciate everyone’s hard work and support to keep me at the front of the pack. Hopefully we can pick up three more wins this week.”
Pulling double duty in the Super and Crate Late Model ranks, Cory Hedgec ock returned to 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee) on Tuesday night for the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series sanctioned event. Drawing 29 cars for the third stop of the tour, Hedgec ock qualified 11th-fastest in his group, earning him the 5th-starting position for his heat race. Needing to place in the Top 4 to make the $3,500-to-win A-Main, Cory fell one spot short with a 5th-place outing.
After laying down the second-fastest time overall in a field of 18 Crate Late Models, Cory Hedgec ock topped the field in the 20-lap feature, picking up his 16th win of the season and a $1,200 payday. Jason Welshan, Ross White, Gregg Martin, and Jesse Lowe completed the Top-5 finishers.
On Friday night Cory visited Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee), piloting both his Crate and Steel Head Late Model for the regular night of racing. Earning the pole position for the Crate Late Model feature after timing in fastest overall, Hedgec ock dominated the 30-lap feature en route to his 17th win of the season, which came over Ross White, Forrest Trent, Kyle Courtney, and Mack McCarter. In the Steel Head division, Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) jumped up three spots in the A-Main, notching a runner-up finish behind Chase King with Jason Cardwell, Trevor Sise, and Jason Trammell completing the Top-5 finishers.
The following night brought Cory to I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tennessee) piloting the Stanley and Sharon Shadden owned #9 Steelhead Late Model. After timing in fastest overall in qualifying, Hedgec ock cruised to his 18th win of the season in the 25-lap feature, topping Brad Coffey, Jordan Rodabaugh, Michael Courtney, and Johnny Ridings at the finish line.

The upcoming week will be another busy one for the team. Action kicks off on Monday night at Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia) with Crate Late Model event. Thursday night will take the team to Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tennessee) for a Steel Head Late Model event. On Friday evening he will compete at Smoky Mountain Speedway in the Steel Head division. Saturday’s plans for the team are still up in the air.
