CARNESVILLE, GA – Corey Almond of Appomattox, VA and Trey Watson of Weston, WV lead their respective Regions in the FASTRAK Pro Late Model Series Futures Cup point standings. The FASTRAK Futures Cup is a points system for FASTRAK Member drivers that start the season under the age of 20-years-old.
Almond leads three other teenage drivers in the FASTRAK South East Region, and Watson is in front of a quartet of drivers in the FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Region. At the end of the season, the driver with the highest point total in each Region based on their best 20 finishes will receive a $1,250 cash award, a trophy and a jacket at the Annual FASTRAK Awards Banquet.
In the FASTRAK SE Region, Almond leads the Futures Cup standings with 375 points after ten starts for an event point average (EPA) of 37.5. Almond has a 31-point lead over Brent Hilton of Rural Retreat, VA, who has 344 points in nine starts for an EPA of 38.22. Sylvan Schuette is third in the FASTRAK SE Futures Cup standings with 240 points after seven starts, and an EPA of 34.29. Camden Testerman is fourth with 219 points and an EPA of 36.5.
Watson leads the FASTRAK MOV Futures Cup standings with 454 points after 13 races with 454 points and an EPA of 34.92, and Garrett Jones is second with 394 points after 13 races with an EPA of 30.31. Brandon Weigle is third with 286 points in eight races with an EPA of 35.75. Chuck Kimble is fourth with 245 points in six races for an EPA of 40.83, and Michael Duritsky of Masontown, PA is fifth with 190 points after five races for an EPA of 38.
