Rod Conley Sixth in Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week Opener; Busy Weekend Ahead for CMI

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Rod Conley kicked off Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week on Friday night, July 21 at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio in defense of his 2016 series title. Rod laid down the fastest lap of the 37 entrants during the qualifying session to earn Fast Time honors and later placed third in heat race action. The Wheelersburg, Ohio native then climbed to sixth in the $3,000 to win headliner and trailed only winner Jared Miley, Corey Conley, Tyler Carpenter, Michael Davis, and Devin Moran at the checkered flag.

After Saturday evening's $4,000 to win Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week race at Wayne County Speedway was washed out early in the day, Rod joined Delmas Conley and R.J. Conley in the pit area at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio for a weekly Super Late Model program, which was scheduled to pay out $2,000 to the winner. Unfortunately, Mother Nature intervened at PRP as well, as the feature was rained-out and will not be rescheduled. Full results from Friday's showdown at MCS can be accessed online at www.muskingumcountyspeedway.com.

A busy weekend is in store for the Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) teams from July 27-29, as the Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week will conclude in southern Ohio. Rod will take his #71r team to Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio on Thursday, Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio on Friday, and Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday for the final three miniseries races. Delmas and R.J. will also compete on the Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week tour, but not in all three races. You can view their tentative weekend schedules below:
