got to say $2500 to win 25 lap qualifiers is a nice way to up the ante. any invert? not that it should be needed with FALS track prep and 25 laps. race your way in!

to those lucky enough to be in attendance: hope FALS lives up to your expectations. they have set the bar pretty high with what they have pulled off in the past.

Qualifying

Devin Moran of Dresden, Ohio, didn’t take long to find speed in his first appearance at Fairbury as he blazed to the overall fastest time at 12.627 seconds, nipping Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, Ill., by the narrowest of margins (0.002 of a second).

Chris Simpson of Oxford, Iowa, was quickest in the second group, turning a lap of 12.686 seconds.

Moran, Babb, Simpson and Chris Ferguson of Mount Holly, N.C., will start from the pole position in the four 25-lap qualifying features.

Several contenders recorded only one lap in qualifying, including Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., Tim McCreadie of Watertown, N.Y., Jimmy Owens of Newport, Tenn., and Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn. Pearson, McCreadie and Owens slipped high and slowed to fall back on a single lap, while Bloomquist missed his spot in the time-trial order and was thus given just one circuit.

Couple things. I don't follow Shane Clanton much so I have a few questions. Pardon me if these sound kinda dumb. I see he has a Capital car. How long has he been in one? And why can't Steve Francis find the success Clanton is having? Are they the only 2 in Capital cars on National tours? Why doesn't Clanton run any Lucas shows? Or at least the bigger ones? Has he in the past? Thanks.

Clanton has success because he runs the WoO Tour if was running Lucas like Francis he would be in the same boat, also the Outlaws almost never race off tour look at last week at I80 only Outlaw regular I remember seeing was BShep.

Never heard of the young man till last night. Impressive. And only 18? Kid has a bright future ahead of him.

I'm thinkin Sheppy will be hard to beat tonight. When he decided to hit the nitrous button with about 7 to go, he was gone. Mechanical issues or a wreck will be the only reason he doesn't find victory lane.

Kody is from my area, he actually lives up near Eldora. He's got 3 wins tho season, at the 3 different tracks. He's improved a ton in the last year. When I seen he was making the trip, I knew he would do well. FALS suit his style.

MI dirt fan,

Clanton has been in a capital car for about 3 years. Various drivers have jumped in and out of them over the last couple years, but Clanton has enjoyed the most success. Francis hasn't looked good in any car he's driven for 3 years. Hate to say it, but WoO has Chub Frank, Lucas has Steve Francis.

Clanton has never run a ton of Lucas events. When he has, it's been events closer to his home stompin' grounds in GA. Lanigan always received the same criticism when he was on WoO tour. Now that Darrell runs Lucas, he runs very few WoO shows. Bottom line is this...these guys have lives and families too, and committing to either series is 30+ weekends out of the year.

KAOS,
If the Lucas tour is so superior, then tell me why Richards is leading points in his 1st go-round?? Don O'Neal is a darn good racecar driver and he finally got his 1st WoO win this year. We're talking a lot of years and a lot of events entered, and it was a race in FL.

The top 5-6 drivers in each series are pretty d@mn good. Maybe WoO drivers don't go to Lucas events and vice versa b/c of how they "tech" or don't tech certain cars.

He's been in one for awhile. It's his and Marshall Greens creation. At one time last year, Heckenast, Junghans, Marler had Capital cars. Obviously now they don't. Clanton did run I-80 and Knoxville Lucas races last year. That's more the exception than they rule with Clanton. About the only lucas race he runs regularly is that fall race at Dixie.

All joking aside, obviously he checked up before Bronson anticipated him checking up. If Bronson can get himself in check, he will be pretty good I think. Sure has the cash behind him to fix all his fuk ups. And Kody was impressive.

Last night was one of the biggest cushions I have ever seen, not sure they can run that for 100 laps tonight

Hopefully the track crew can knock that down somewhat for tonight

T-mac is good on longer races. I look for him to bring home the $$.

If that is the biggest cushion you have ever seen, you haven't been around FALS much. I wouldn't even put that much above an average cushion here.

Hopefully the idea I gave them for getting a fiber to the fairgrounds works out. The old saying about more than one way to skin a cat, could work out in this case.

Friday night before the PDC started, Mike Norris said "there were 65 cars entered. It would have been 67, but 2 cars failed inspection." Anyone know what or who that was?
