Dustin Strand Claims River Cities Checkers for Win #12
Grand Forks, North Dakota (08/01/17) – Keeping pace with his successful stretch behind the wheel of his Naastad Acres #71 Keewatin Truck Service/ Q&Z Plumbing & Heating/ Millenium Chassis Late Model, Dustin Strand raced to his 12th win of the season on Friday night with a triumph at River Cities Speedway.
“We’ve got a really busy week coming up in the Late Model so it’s nice to know that we’ve got everything in winning form,” Strand said. “If we stay on top of our game there’s no reason we can’t grab at least three or four wins this week.”
Pulling double duty in the Late Model and Open Wheel Modified ranks, Dustin Strand visited River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota) on Friday night. Recording a 5th-place finish in his heat race, Strand secured his spot into the 20-lap feature. Taking control of a lead after a late-race restart, Dustin Strand notched his 12th win of the season over Brandon Fuller, Joey Pederson, Bill Mooney, and Brad Seng.
After starting with a heat race win in his Open Wheel Modified, Strand was an early retiree from the feature after getting caught behind a wreck, following a restart on the fourth lap.
Saturday night brought Dustin to Devil’s Lake Speedway (Lakota, North Dakota), where he did battle in the $1,000-to-win Open Wheel Modified special. Moving up one spot in his heat, Strand scored a 10-lap heat race win, positioning him 7th on the starting grid for the feature. Breaking into the Top 5, Dustin Strand posted a 4th-place finish behind Lance Schill, Ward Imrie, and Scott Greer with Rick Delaine coming in 5th.
