Cory Hedgec ock Takes 2017-Win Tally to 21
Loudon, Tennessee (08/03/17) – An ultra-busy week of competition found Cory Hedgec ock claiming a trio of victories in his Cushman #23 Valley Transport/Rocket Chassis XR1/ Eagle Racing Engine Late Model. With the hat-trick performance he has now amassed a staggering 21 victories on the season.
“To reach 21 victories before July came to an end is something our team is very proud to have accomplished,” Hedgec ock said with a big smile. “We’ve got a lot of racing left to do this season, and we are going to work harder than ever to see how many more wins we can grab. Thanks as always goes out to all of my supporters for making all of this success possible.”
Monday night saw Cory Hedgec ock visit Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia), competing in a field of 23 Crate Late Models. After laying down the fastest time in qualifying, Cory coasted to a heat race win, positioning him on the pole for the feature. Leading wire-to-wire in the finale, Hedgec ock streaked to his 19th win of the season. John Owenby, Chip Brindle, Sam Seawright, and Grant Pearl completed the Top-5 finishers. He was awarded a $1,200 payday for his efforts.
Thursday night brought Cory to Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tennessee), where he was competing in both the Super and Steelhead Late Model divisions. With 15 Supers registered for the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern National Series sanctioned event, Hedgec ock posted a 7th-place finish in his heat race earning him the 11th-starting position for the $3,500-to-win A-Main. Losing four spots in the 35-lapper, Cory retired to a 15th-place outing.
In the Steelhead ranks, Cory held off the field late in the race to pick up his 20th win of the season, which came over Ryan King, Chase King, Josh Henry, and Layne Clifton.
Following a rainout on Friday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee), Hedgec ock stopped at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tennessee) on Saturday evening. Earning the pole position for the feature via qualifying, Cory outran the 17-car field, capturing his 21st win of the year, topping Ryan King, Jordan Rodabaugh, Paul Tims, and Barry Goodman at the finish line.

This weekend – August 4-5 – will see Cory resuming action with the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series as they sanction a pair of races in his home state. Friday night takes the team to Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee), while Saturday night will find them in action at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee). Cory is currently second in the latest series standings.
