R.J., Rod, and Delmas Conley All Land in Top Five in Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week Finale!

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) After rain-outs across southern Ohio earlier last weekend, the Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week wrapped up on Saturday evening, July 29 at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio. All three Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) drivers were in action at the former K-C Raceway and had their sights set on the $5,000 winner's check. R.J. Conley had the best night representing the Wheelersburg, Ohio race team, as he posted the fastest time in Group B during the qualifying session before running second in his heat race. After starting the 40-lap main event from the outside of the third row, R.J. put on a show getting up to second in the running order and battling for the lead before placing an impressive runner-up behind only race winner Tyler Carpenter!

Rod Conley, who was last year's Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week Champion, timed in fifth quickest in Group A prior to placing second in his heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the third row next to his brother, "Hot Rod" battled hard for a top five finish and crossed underneath the checkers in the fourth position. Delmas Conley, the patriarch of the racing Conley family, finished third in heat race action and later started the 40-lapper from the inside of the sixth row. The Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer then blasted past six competitors en route to a steady fifth place performance. Complete results from Atomic Speedway can be accessed online at www.atomicspeedway.net.

The CMI teams will scatter across the Buckeye State of Ohio this coming weekend, as the three drivers are eyeing events at four different ovals from August 4-6. Delmas will sling dirt at the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday night in a weekly $2,000 to win show, while Rod will venture to Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio on Friday and Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday for a pair of $2,000 to win programs. R.J. will join his dad at PRP on Saturday before traveling to Midway Speedway in Crooksville, Ohio on Sunday for the annual running of the ‘Jim Dunn Memorial,’ which boasts a whopping $12,000 top prize.
