2350 is the weight rule, that's pretty much the same as any other series out there now days. They're Saying fuel burn off is what got them. I bet they weren't much under weight, mistakes happen.

joshroth14
08-07-2017, 10:40 PM
Crowd went crazy. Diercks lives about a hour away so its a popular win especially to beat a good field of cars. Marlar, The Simpsons, Bloomquist, Clanton and Birky.

The point about Bloomquist and valvoline is that they switched oil and racing fuels thinking it was going to solve their issues but its alot more than that. Obvisouly the oil isnt going to make much difference and I dont see leaving Base has made a world of difference. They say they are close though. Wouldn't surprise me to see them win the North South or the shootout.

You know I make jokes of Rusty and the Rayburn sled but that dude was knocking off strong laps with 10-15 laps to go. Someone that isn't stuck in the early 90s might pick him up and have a wheel man that can get he job done. I have personally watched that car and the action of the car reminds me of watching the 1999 world 100. That dude with decent equipment just might get the job done. I think I'm a closet fan of the underdog lol

Well it's about time! Lol! Anyone who pays attention can see an abundance of talent mixed with B level equipment. Your assessment of of his ability is spot on. The guy can flat out drive a LM car. There's a couple guys on here (they know who they are)that just flat out hate the guy because he's a winner, and do nothing but belittle his accomplishments, but nothing can hide the facts. He is without doubt the most accomplished local/regional racer in his area. He's closing in on 200 career LM feature wins, and he just turned 31 in July. There is a reason he has an UMP National Championship under his belt. He's been in the top 3 for 7 consecutive years, and he's challenging for it again this season. That's why he was at Farley tonight while the rest of the top ten are sitting at home.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on what you witnessed tonight.

This sucks for Marlar. He's been out on the road for about 45 days now, and has been Top 5 pretty much everywhere he's unloaded. Losing out on 10k for 4 gallons of fuel is painful.

At the drivers meeting, which Marlar missed because of arriving late to the track (just put together a new piece), officials warned the drivers their would be no allowance for fuel burnoff. That had to sting a little.

Big crowd to see Birky's return. Slow long lines at the concession stands. Clanton, Bloomquist and Marlar add interest to the fans hungry for super late model racing. Unfortunate turn of events for Marlar who dominated the event. Sorry to say the track rubbered up and very little passing toward the end of the race. All in all, pretty fair night of LM racing.

It's no secret that Rusty can wheel a car. It's the people that think Rayburn is going to make some big comeback that I don't agree with. I'm not dogging CJ, he is definitely a pioneer of late model racing, I just believe his time on top has passed. He was once there tho, that's more than most can say.

Go get yourself a hotdog and relax CJ, they ain't coming back this time. As sad as that is.

CBC is different than most sanctions on the burn off weight rule. You must weigh the full amount after the race. Some say it eliminates bolt on weight. It does not eliminate bolt on weight, it only changes how much. The weight is for handling, not fuel burn off. You would think the only weight that falls off and hurts someone is fuel burn off weight.

Actually it costs the average racer money to save weight after you get so light. Those light weight parts cost a lot more than the heavy cheap parts. It's like diet food. You get less to show for the money you spent.
