Grand Forks, North Dakota (08/09/17) – For the second-straight week Dustin Strand piloted his Naastad Acres #71 Keewatin Truck Service/ Q&Z Plumbing & Heating/ Millenium Chassis Late Model to a feature win. His 13th win of 2017 came at River Cities Speedway on Friday night.

Dustin Strand opened his weekend of competition with the Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA) on Thursday night at Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minnesota) with the Thursday Night Thunder event. Coming in 2nd in his heat behind Ricky Weiss, Strand earned the 5th-starting position for the A-Main. With $1,100 on the line, Dustin was an early retiree from the feature after the back of his transmission came apart and destroyed the rear-end of his car.

The following night took Strand to River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota), where he competed in a field of 22 WISSOTA Late Models in his Naastad Acres #71 Millenium Late Model. Starting the night with a heat race win, Strand earned the 8th-starting position for the 20-lap feature.

Using lap-traffic to his advantage late in the race, Dustin overtook race-leader Zach Naastad on lap 19 and held him off on the final lap to pick up his 13th win of the season. Naastad, Bill Mooney, Mike Balcaen, and Joey Pederson completed the Top-5 finishers.

After the NLRA sanctioned event was rained out on Saturday night at Jamestown Speedway (Jamestown, North Dakota), Strand stopped at Sheyenne River Speedway (Lisbon, North Dakota) on Sunday competing in a field of 28 NLRA followers. Posting a heat race win to begin the night, Dustin earned the pole position for the $1,200-to-win A-Main. Hanging onto a podium spot, Dustin Strand slipped back to a 3rd-place finish behind Don Shaw and Brad Seng with Ricky Weiss and Donny Schatz completing the Top-5 finishers.

“With the exception of the mechanical failure at Norman County, it was another great weekend for us,” Strand said. “Entering the home stretch of the season our team is more focused than ever to put both the Late Model and Modified in Victory Lane every time we hit the track. Thanks goes out to everyone, who supports our team.”
