Tony Jackson Jr. Seals the Deal at Caney Valley Speedway
Lebanon, Missouri (08/09/17) – Tony Jackson Jr. finally shook the monkey from his back and took his Merrill Bonding #56 CMD Race Shocks/ MB Customs/ Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model to Victory Lane on Saturday night.
It was his first win of 2017.
“This has been a crazy season, and it feels like we should’ve had a half dozen or so wins by now, but they’ve just seemed to elude us,” Jackson Jr. said. “We’ve got a great team in place, and now that we’ve got the first one, hopefully there will be more to come during the last half of the year. It was also really cool to see Raymond [Merrill] take a team car to Victory Lane on Friday night.”
Returning to the driver’s seat with the MARS DIRTcar West Series, Tony Jackson Jr. visited Midway Speedway (Lebanon, Missouri) on Friday night to do battle for the $2,000 top prize. After registering the third-fastest time in qualifying, Jackson Jr. captured a heat race win, positioning him third on the starting grid for the feature. Moving up one spot, Tony notched a runner-up finish behind Raymond Merrill with Chris Jackson, Joe Godsey, and Mason Oberkramer completing the Top-5 finishers.
The following night brought Jackson Jr. to Caney Valley Speedway (Caney, Kansas) for the James House Memorial. With 23 Super Late Models taking part in the event, Tony posted the fastest lap in time trials, locking him into the pole position for the feature.
Leading flag-to-flag, Tony Jackson Jr. reeled in his first win of the season, which came over Jacob Magee, Payton Looney, Rodney Sanders, and Mason Oberkramer. He was awarded a $3,066 payday for his dominant performance in the 40-lap affair.

The upcoming weekend – August 11-12 – will take Tony to Illinois to compete in a pair of MARS DIRTcar West Series events. On Friday night the doubleheader opens at Kankakee County Speedway (Kankakee, Illinois) before moving to Fairbury American Legion Speedway (Fairbury, Illinois) on Saturday night.
