Chris Brown Wins Whynot Modified Feature

Spring, Texas (08/23/17) – For the second time in three weeks Chris Brown took his Lone Star Hydro & Maintenance #21 MB Customs/ Knowles Performance Engine Modified to Victory Lane.

His latest victory was claimed over the weekend at Whynot Motorsports Park.

Last weekend Chris Brown made the trip to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi), where he competed in three separate divisions during the 5th Annual Southern Street Stock Nationals. In a field of 18 Open Wheel Modifieds, Brown secured the 2nd-starting spot for the feature after cruising to a heat race win.

Picking up his third win of the season, Chris topped Randy King, Ryan Fowler, Wesley Duboise, and Rodney Etheridge at the finish line to capture the $1,500 payday.

In the NeSmith Crate Late Model ranks, Brown scored a heat race victory from the 5th-starting position, locking his spot into the feature. Rolling off 3rd for the $2,000-to-win A-Main, Chris jumped up one spot to place 2nd behind Randy Boyd with Chad Thrash, Josh Banes, and Casey Haney completing the Top 5 finishers.

With a stout field of 115 NeSmith Street Stocks entered, Brown followed up the sixth-fastest time overall in qualifying with a 3rd-place finish in his heat race. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the feature, Chris captured a consolation win, positioning him 11th on the starting grid for the $3,000-to-win main event.

Chris slipped back to a 23rd place outing in the 50-lap affair.

“The result of the Street Stock feature was a little disappointing, but overall I couldn’t have asked for much more this weekend,” Brown commented. “I really appreciate everyone who supports my racing program. We didn’t race as much as I would’ve liked this year, but I feel like we made the most of every opportunity that we had when we did race.”
