The track will have Fireworks that will light up the night sky as well as Steve Taylor playing some Live music before the start of the event.

The race pays tribute to long-time owner Harold Hardgrove who bought the track in late 1997 and opened the track in 1998 and ran until his death in 2009. His son Brandon and daughter Casey operate the track which sits five minutes south of Somerset, Ky. The elder Hardgrove raced at the speedway before he made the purchase of the 3/8th’s mile oval. Hardgrove brought back the popular Lake Cumberland Classic event in 1998 and Darrell Lanigan of Union, Ky. captured the payday. Some of Hardgrove’s biggest events consisted of the $10,000-to-win Coca-Cola 100 in November 2002 (Johnny Wheeler-winner) and a Montgomery-Gentry invitational race in 2002. Hardgrove also hosted Northern Allstars (1999-2003) and Battle of the Bluegrass races (2002-2007) at the track.

The Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Series will sanction the Late Model portion of the program. The entry fee will be $50. The tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier 1350
and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 and 56 tires allowed anywhere on all four wheels. All non-qualifier Late Model drivers receive $50.00 tow money.
