Cory Hedgec ock Surges to Smoky Mountain Speedway Triumph

Loudon, Tennessee (08/29/17) – Cory Hedgec ock raced his Cushman #23 Valley Transport/ Rocket Chassis XR1 Crate Late Model to the $1,000 win on Saturday evening at Smoky Mountain Speedway.

Cory Hedgec ock traveled to Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tennessee) on Friday evening, battling in a field of 17 Crate Late Models. Recording the exact same time as Jesse Lowe in qualifying, Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) received the 2nd-starting position for the A-Main since he was the second driver to lay down the time.

Battling with Lowe for the top spot in the caution-plagued feature, Cory ultimately crossed the finish line in the runner-up position behind Jesse Lowe with Jordan Horton, Christian Hanger, and Deke Waters completing the Top-5 finishers.

The following night, competing in the Crate Late Model ranks at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee), Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) outran the field in the feature to capture the $1,000 payday and his 23rd win of the season. Kyle Courtney, Jimmy Elliott, Bradley Lewelling, and Jason Melton rounded out the Top 5.

“It was a good weekend, close to home for our team,” Hedgec ock said. “We’re now focused on heading to Georgia this coming weekend to make a run at claiming the Chevrolet Performance championship.”
