Part of the excitement of the old world 100 was the fact that at 7pm as advertised, that first heat hit the track. The only complaint I ever had with that format was that some years you couldn't stack enough tear offs for the first heat because of the slime. It would be nice to go back to racing at 7 with the back half of the 6th heat getting a few hot laps to blow off the track. Start all the pre-race ceremonies at 6:30 if you have to but drop the green on heat one at 7!
