Ponderosa Speedway Set for Return to Action with Fan Appreciation Night Friday September 29
Junction City, KY- September 16, 2017- After about a seven-week hiatus, Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jamie Stumph and co-owner Larry Redenius are set to reopen the 3/8 mile D-shaped clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” on Friday September 29 with Fan Appreciation Night sponsored by Jay Construction and Restoration, which will feature Super Late Models racing for $2,000 to win, Pro (Crate) Late Models racing for $1,000 to win, KDRA Super Stocks racing for $750 to win, Stock Four Cylinders racing for $500 to win, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones racing for $100 to win, while the Open Wheel Modifieds will have the night off.
“Thanks to all our current sponsors and some new sponsors that have come on board with us, Ponderosa Speedway is set to return to action for at least three events for the remainder of the season”, stated Jamie Stumph. “We will have our Fan Appreciation Night (September 29), the Fall Classic (October 13, 14), and a Season Championship Night that will be announced at a later date”, added Stumph. “We sincerely thank everyone for their past support of Ponderosa Speedway and invite everyone to join us for the remaining events on the schedule for 2017”.
As part of the Fan Appreciation Night sponsored by Jay Construction and Restoration at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday September 29, adult general admission in the grandstand area will be ONLY $10 and it will also be $1 hot dog night all throughout the evening. There will prize giveaways throughout the evening as well and race fans will be able to register for free giveaways and door prizes as well.
The return of racing action at Ponderosa Speedway will take place on Friday September 29 as the track will present Fan Appreciation Night sponsored by Jay Construction and Restoration. Featured divisions in competition that evening will include Super Late Models racing for $2,000 to win, Pro (Crate) Late Models racing for $1,000 to win, KDRA Super Stocks racing for $750 to win, Stock Four Cylinders racing for $500 to win, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones racing for $100 to win. All divisions will utilize the practice/time trial combo format to determine heat race starting positions. Transponder timing/scoring is used at Ponderosa Speedway and the rental fee for a transponder is $10. RACEceivers are also mandatory and are required to be in use each a competitor is on the track.
In addition, if the Super Late Model feature winner has not won a feature event at Ponderosa Speedway over the past two seasons, they will receive a $500 bonus for their victory. If the Pro (Crate) Late Model feature winner has not won a feature event at Ponderosa Speedway in the last two seasons as well, they will receive a $250 bonus for their win.
Activities for the Friday September 29 Fan Appreciation Night sponsored by Jay Construction and Restoration at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area and the general admission area gates open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., with practice/time trial laps set to begin at 7:20 p.m., followed immediately by green flag racing. Ticket prices for the Friday September 29 Fan Appreciation Night sponsored by Jay Construction and Restoration in the general admission area will be ONLY $10 for adults, with children age 12 and under free. A pit pass will be $35 for adults, with children ages 6 to 12 being $15, while children ages 5 and under are free.
