604 Gears

Looking for some help. I have a 604 late model with 4:11 rear end. Looking for a starting point on gears for a 3/8 mile and 1/2 mile track turning 6800 for rpm.Thanks!

Try 5.34 on the half and 5.56 a 3/8. Or just walk up to someone running there..... and ask a few to get a feel and level of truth. Most guys will tell you if you don't seem to be a serious threat to their finish. If your getting left behind on starts, you don't have enough!

560 on .5 mile and 621 on 3/8 will turn 6750 to 6800

Also depends on driving style and track if it's fast and hooker up or slick an slow.
