This is really good equipment.

That's just a great team. I have a hard time believing McIntosh ends up in a better situation than the one he's leaving.

I thought Mcintosh wanted to go big time? If it's such a great team with great equipment why didn't they then?

It sounded like a little dig at McIntosh, about providing feedback to the crewchief???

I dunno, but sounds a little critical to me:

"We're not going BACK to where David has to figure it out from the sidelines. We're going to have a driver that can do that."

Not being an @$$ but didnt he contradict himself by first saying that they might 'step up' then later says their cutting back?

Not sure everyone wants to live out of a rig all summer.

I would take that to mean Ogle or Kerr.

No. He says better performance. (Step up). Less shows. (Cut back)

I don't see that happening, especially with Blount wanting to scale back their racing.

Donald wants to run a national tour and the team collectively are not interested in doing so. Just like the article says David has a son that he wants to watch grow up and Larry hates missing the chance to see his team race due to work, so that's why.

I think Mark Douglas would be a great fit for this ride. He recently shuttered his family operation. The guy can drive. He knows race cars and can win races. He lives very close to the Blount operation and he and Fatboy have worked together previously. I think he at least deserves a shot at it.

Logistically wouldn't work but I would like to see Zack Dohm get a ride like that.

I could see Eric Wells getting that ride. He's gotta be pretty burnt out from national touring.

Off the top of my head, local guys who seem to be fits to run a limited schedule include: Jason Welsham, Corey Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word), Jesse Lowe, or possibly someone moonlighting in the car like Michael Page or Ross Bailes.

I agree with Flagone the way Garner and Bryant want to race Mark Douglas be the perfect guy to put behind the wheel.

I feel that they might go with a young up and comer kind of racer that is local in the area. There's a few guys in this area that would fit that role well.

To me the way the article read they didn't want a driver they needed to bring along. The way I understood it was they wanted someone who was already equal to or better, in experience and talent to McIntosh. So that would be someone already running supers, who is accomplished, knowledgeable and that communicates well what the car is doing.

Does Blankenship still live up there around that area ?

70 races is a lot. 55 is still a ton.I am still baffled at McIntosh leaving he is good but I don't think good enough to put in a national series good unless he is bringing money to the table.

Completely agree.

I'm of the opinion the ride is better than he is. Maybe I'm wrong. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Dane's good, but has never really raced in the area they would be racing in. Those guys have ran the same type of schedule for a long time.

Don't see Landers moving from Ark to run regionally in the SE.

This is a very good ride for the right driver it will be very interesting to see who they put behind the wheel. just my opinion but I don't think Douglas could cut it plus I hear his dad isn't in the best of health,i don't know if Welshan and Garner would see eye to eye,Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) maybe but he wouldn't be using Eagle race engines and his dad wouldn't be calling the shots, Skip has quit (retired), I don't think they want to replace body panels after every race so Weiss is out

I think Ray cook would be a good fit but Ray has a lot going on with promoting the SN series and his own track too and plus he's probably happy with the ride he already has.

Dustin Linville he's a hammerdown cat from what I've seen of him a couple of times but don't know how logistics be for him from where he lives because I'm sure BMS is going to want a driver that can spend plenty of time in the shop too.
