Dustin Strand Ends 2017 Season with a “W”

Grand Forks, North Dakota (10/03/17) –Dustin Strand wrapped up his 2017 campaign in fine fashion over the weekend by piloting his RHRSwag.com #71 Keewatin Truck Service/ Q&Z Plumbing & Heating/ Millenium Chassis Modified to a feature win.

On Friday night Dustin Strand returned to competition behind the wheel of both his Late Model and Open Wheel Modified for the opening round of the annual Prairie Classic at Red River Co-op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba).

In a field of 22 Late Models, Strand secured his spot into the opening night feature with a heat race victory. Battling with Ricky Weiss for the lead, Dustin settled with a runner-up finish late, trailing Weiss across the finish line with Jim Harris, Bill Mooney, and Brad Seng completing the Top-5 finishers in the 20-lapper.

During the same night in the Open Wheel Modified ranks, Strand charged to a heat race victory from the third-starting spot positioning him eighth on the starting grid for the feature. Breaking into the Top 5, Dustin jumped up three spots to place fifth behind Ward Imrie, Scott Greer, Jordan Duray, and Ian Rousseau.

Returning on Saturday, Strand again started the night with a heat race win in the Late Model division, which earned him the third-starting spot for the feature. Coming up just short at the line, Dustin registered a runner-up finish behind Ricky Weiss with Brad Seng, Shane Edginton, and Kevin Sexton rounding out the Top 5.

After posting a heat race victory in his Modified, Strand topped the 15-car field in the feature to capture his 15th win of the season. Danny Staff, Rick Delaine, Ian Rousseau, and Ward Imrie trailed Dustin to the checkers.

“It was a good weekend for our team, and it was especially nice to wrap up the season with another win,” Strand noted. “This weekend wrapped up our season, so I would just like to say thanks to my dad, Nathan Davis and Tim VanGrinsven for working their butts off every week/weekend to keep the #71 up front! Thanks to my wife Savanah and kids for all the help at home and from the stands every weekend. Also thanks to all my family, friends, fans, and most of all, the people and businesses that sponsor our team!
