-How big of a difference is there in the late model tires between the different compounds and different model of tires, far as handling of the car and speed from the tire. -Is one model of tire faster than the other or are they general about the same. -I have been told that the white dot tires will fire fast, so would a white dot tire be ideal for qualify or will they take more than a few laps to fire and be effective? -How long will the firing last on white dot tires? - Is the rib tires the only thing that is a white dot tire?

White dot tire are not just a legend ,I have used them, lol.I couldn't find a white dot on them any where. We were racing under a 1600 compound rule.As there are several different 1600 constructions,I called Hoosier and asked. They recommened white dots.I used the same tires for several weeks. I didn't feel they fired faster but when they did fire you knew it.

From what I understand the way to tell if it is a white dot tire is the 11 will come before the rest of the numbers and if it isnt a white dot tire the 11 will come last is that correct?

I'm pretty sure Hoosier doesn't even make a "standard" 1600 anymore. I'm pretty sure if you ask for a 1600, you will get a white dot. I heard that somewhere, may not be true. Please correct me if I'm wrong

White dots are only offerd in the NRM and NRM wide. The 11/88's are still the harder compound. They punch about 5 points less on a durometer. I kicked tail on them when they first came out. Nobody knew that the size written backwards denoted it was a white dot.
