Jeep Van Wormer Routs Field at Dirt-Covered Berlin for $7,500 Score!

(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) In a year that Jeep Van Wormer has raced sparingly due to a new business venture, the Pinconning, Michigan driver broke out in a big way for his first win of the 2017 season on Saturday evening, September 30 at the dirt-covered Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan! Jeep knocked down the quickest lap overall of the 29 entrants during the American Ethanol Late Model Tour qualifying session to earn Fast Time honors and later placed third in his inverted heat race.

After drawing the third starting spot prior to the drop of the green flag in the 40-lap 'POET BioFuels 40,' Jeep took command of the field on an early restart and dominated the remainder of the show at the sprawling 7/16-mile paved facility. Jeep lapped all but three competitors and won by a hefty 7.524 seconds to bag the $7,500 payday ahead of Dona Marcoullier, Brandon Thirlby, Ryan VanderVeen, and Rich Neiser! “Our car was just flawless – I can’t thank Brucebilt Performance, Bruce, and all of his guys at the shop in Tennessee enough for putting together this new XR1 car for us,” exclaimed Van Wormer this week following the win. “We put on a little harder tire than some of those other guys did and that decision really paid off for us. Hopefully the weather cooperates again this weekend at Berlin and we can shoot for that $10,000 check!”

Weather pending, the Iron Motorsports team will be right back at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan this Saturday night, October 7 for the American Ethanol Late Model Tour season finale. The Championship event will be a single-day shootout with a $10,000 top prize. Additional information concerning this race can be found by accessing www.berlinraceway.com.
