Bryan Bernheisel Gets Creative for Williams Grove Win

Jonestown, Pennsylvania (10/09/17) – On Friday night Bryan Bernheisel broke out the plexiglass and got creative with the body design on his Dieffenbach’s Kettle Chips #119 Lazer Chassis Late Model.

His creativity paid off as he raced to the win in the “Run Whatcha Brung Race” for the second-straight year.

“I look forward to this event every year because it gives us the opportunity to think outside of the box and have some major fun,” Bernheisel said. “It’s always amazing how a little plexiglass can seriously increase your cornering and speed abilities.”

On Friday evening both Bryan and Jim Bernheisel were in action at Williams Grove Speedway (Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania), competing in a field of 18 Super Late Models during the annual Run Whatcha Brung event.

Rolling off 5th in his heat, Jim landed a runner-up finish, while Bryan came from fifth-to-second in his heat. Receiving the outside-front-row starting spot for the feature after the redraw, Bryan outran his dad in the 25-lapper to capture his eighth win of the season. Jim Bernheisel, Gene Knaub, Tyler Horst, and Matt Nailor completed the Top 5.

The following night saw Bryan travel to Susquehanna Speedway (Newberrytown, Pennsylvania), where he competed in the 358 Steel Head Late Model ranks. Passing four cars in his heat, Bernheisel landed a second-place finish, positioning him eighth on the starting grid for the A-Main.

Breaking into the Top 5, Bryan improved four spots in the 20-lapper to finish fourth behind Charles Potts, Dan Zechman, and Randy Christine Jr. with Brian Shuey coming in fifth.
