Dennis Erb, Jr. to Unveil Paint Scheme Paying Homage to his Father at DTWC

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team will close out the 2017 edition of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule on October 20-21 with the 37th Annual ‘Dirt Track World Championship’ at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. Two rounds of qualifying heat races will kick things off at PRP on Friday, while consolation events, the $3,000 to win ‘Jim Dunn Memorial Non-Qualifiers Race,’ and the 100-lap DTWC are all slated for Saturday. The series finale will once again draw the best Super Late Model drivers in the country to the southern Ohio facility – located on the banks of the Ohio River – to vie for the whopping $100,000 top prize.

Dennis Erb, Jr. comes into the crown jewel spectacular eighth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings. Special for this year’s version of the ‘Dirt Track World Championship’ will be throwback paint schemes. Dennis will unveil a scheme matching and paying homage to one of his dad’s last racecars complete with #26 on the doors. Additional information on the biggie at Portsmouth this weekend can be obtained by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

On October 13-14, the #28 team was in the pit area at the pristine Dirt Oval at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois, as the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned the two-day 'Chi-Town Showdown.' In Friday night's $10,000 to win weekend opener, Dennis clicked off the eleventh fastest lap overall during time trials before placing second in his loaded heat race.

After drawing the outside of the front row for the start of the 50-lap headliner, Dennis unfortunately suffered handling issues on his Black Diamond mount and eventually retired due to those problems in the twenty-fourth position. The 'Chi-Town Showdown' finale on Saturday evening, which was scheduled to boast another $10,000 winner's share, was washed out early in the day due to inclement weather and will not be rescheduled.
