Carnesville, Georgia – The ULTIMATE Battle of the Bluegrass Super Late Model Series Season Finale at Atomic Speedway scheduled for this Saturday, October 28th, has been postponed. Speedway and Series officials agreed this was the best decision for teams and fans with a cold and rainy forecast looming.
“We were looking forward to wrapping up the 2017 season at Atomic Speedway this Saturday, but Mother Nature had other plans,” said ULTIMATE General Manager DJ Irvine, “It was shaping up to be a great event, but with the forecast showing a significant chance of rain, we have to do what is best for the track, teams, and fans.”
While there is not a concrete make-up date Atomic and the ULTIMATE Battle of the Bluegrass Super Late Model Series are looking at a few options. With the seasons changing and teams preparing for the off-season, finding a suitable date could prove difficult.
“We will try our best to work with Atomic Speedway to find a suitable date for the Season Finale,” stated Irvine, “We appreciate them wanting to make an early decision in interest of everyone involved and look forward to working with them in 2018.”
The race was scheduled to be co-sanctioned with the newly formed ULTIMATE Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Model Series. The Mid-Ohio Valley region will feature a full schedule in 2018, covering tracks in Ohio and West Virginia.
