Ray Cook Leads Early at Blue Ridge; Posts Fourth Place Effort in Peach State
(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook and the Wynn Motorsports team ventured to Blue Ridge Motorsports Park in Blue Ridge, Georgia on Saturday night, October 21 for a Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series showdown. Ray was fast right out of the box, as he laid down the quickest time in Group A during qualifying to earn the pole position for the $4,000 to win contest. The Brasstown, North Carolina ace then led the first six circuits of the 40-lap headliner before eventually slipping to fourth at the checkered flag. Finishing ahead of his #53 Capital ride was winner Donald McIntosh, Kurt English, and J.T. Seawright. The #53 team will jump right back into dirt-slinging action on October 27-28 at the “gray gumbo” of Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia. The 2nd Annual ‘Showdown at Senoia” will take center stage this weekend and a pair of programs will keep patrons on the edge of their seat at the super-slick oval. Things will kick off with a $3,000 to win shootout on Friday night, while the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series will roar into town on Saturday evening to preside over a 60-lap feature, which will boast a $10,000 windfall.
