Logan Roberson Turns Around Weekend with 311 Win

Waynesboro, Virginia (10/31/17) – Logan Roberson was more than disappointed with the start to his weekend in his Wynbridge Inc. #17 BTS Towing Service/ Rocketman Racing/ XR1 Rocket Chassis Late Model.

The talented 20-year-old couldn’t take advantage of a front-row starting spot in a heat race in the second annual OneDirt World Short Track Championship at the Dirt Track at Charlotte. He faded back in the pack in his heat. As a result, the team decided to travel to 311 Motor Speedway on Saturday evening to compete in another special.

The decision paid dividends to the tune of a $2,000 victory.

“Man we were so disappointed to not be able to capitalize on our qualifying effort and starting spot in our heat race at Charlotte,” Roberson recounts. “We decided instead of running the B-Main on Saturday to head up the road to the special at 311 Motor Speedway. It proved to be a good move because we had a great night and grabbed another win. Thanks to my team for not giving up on me. It felt good to score another victory.”

Friday night brought Logan Roberson to the Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, North Carolina), kicking off the second annual OneDirt World Short Track Championship. After laying down the third fastest time out of 62 cars in practice on Thursday evening, Roberson timed in fifth fastest in qualifying on Friday, positioning him on the pole of his heat. Losing three spots, Logan logged a fourth-place finish, transferring him into the B-Main on Saturday night.

Disappointed with his performance, Roberson packed up late Friday night and headed to 311 Motor Speedway (Pine Hall, North Carolina) to do battle for the $2,000 top prize on Saturday night. Starting the night by registering the fastest time overall in qualifying, Roberson outran the 17-car field in the feature to capture his 18th win of the season. Matthew Nance, Tyler Bare, Steve Blackburn, and Corey Almond completed the Top-5 finishers.
