The thing that bothers me is he was one of the drivers that actually tested at this track 2 weeks ago.

By no means do I think he is washed up but father time does get the better of all of us.

I believe he will have a decent season next year but I do not see him winning any more Lucas Oil point championships.

I hope he does not hang on too long and go out like Steve Kinser did...

I wouldn't count the zero out of nothing. He has proven in the past when some think he is washed up to come back and proved them wrong.

No matter why or when he hangs it up he will never be "washed up". He will leave behind a sustaining forword movement and further success for many. He planted a seed in this sport that will forever yield bountiful progress...

And we all will be watching to see what he comes up with next. The only thing washed up is his driver suit and ready for the next race.

Yeap that is washed up Scott stats their. On par Scott would won the world 100 and first loser in points. The great hippie would won the dream, world 100, DTWC and lucas points. So he washed up this pass year, scrubbing josh's hauler toilet lol

I agree about Scott's resume speaking for itself... In 2017 his year would suggest he's on the down swing of things but that's just my take.. 2018 should be really interesting & I hope he can bounce back just because it's better for our sport when Bloomer is dangerous & on top of his game

I don't know how you can say he is on a down swing. He had some vapor lock issues, other mechanicals out of his control, plus he did mess himself up with showing up late a few times.
Otherwise, 9 LOLMS wins (268,000 in lucas money + 35,000 point money)
100,000 Dream
20,000 Ultimate Series at VMS
15,000 Whynot

over 450,000 in winnings, and being a couple bad breaks away from winning the Lucas Oil championship is not on a down swing.

Talking with Bloomer haters at the World last year, even they missed having him there (nobody to Boo!). Folks may be getting a woody right now hoping for his demise, but many will miss him.

Bloomer had a rough year like five years ago, so rough that he dropped off tour. He bounced back the next. Not every year is going to be awesome.

Even the best of the best, only win 25% of the races they run. That makes them washed up or never had talent to start with at 75% of their races. You should feel sorry for them and give extra odds on the next race bet. lol

I will say he had an interesting year, like one poster commented 450k aint bad. Thou he had a lot of weird mechanical issues, with the vapor locking etc. At times he looked unbeatable, then he went to mid pack after a few races.

He is getting heavier, it happens, but a couple time this year when he got out of the car he looked whipped. Maybe its time for him to shape up i guess. I would like to see it, and keep on winning well into his 60's.

Always a fan of Bloomquist thou, he is self made, and works on his own stuff, more than i can say for 95% of the pretty boy squad now days.

You forgot about the Topless 100 when he came from the back to win. In reality 2017 was no worse of a year than he had in 2012 and 2013, or 2007 or 2005 or 1997 was a rough year.lol

I started this thread to invite the haters to bash. Zero had a mediocre weekend but so did Josh lannigan oneil even McDowell no move forward in feature. Same 4 cars ran top 4 in features and both nights had similar results for many on both nights. Zero had an off year but still won Dream Topless Jackson 100 and many other wins.lucky for everybody he is late half the time and unorganized otherwise they b in trouble. He is and always will be the GOAT.If u take away contact with young Oneil at Pittsburgh he be right there for championship at DTWC. Getting tough to run with Best,Richards,Longhorn and now Landers/Rumley but he will still win his share. Even at the World he had just hit the gas a lap before he broke. Maybe no beat JD but would have been fun to watch

Well SLM has become a team deal. Longhorn has many good crew chiefs, drivers and others that give good feedback. Rocket came out with the XR-1 and many understood they had to step up there game. Bloomquist is a 1 man operation mostly. There's no top of the line crew chief or even crew guys. In what has become the big league, lucas tour, he has done wonders. Nobody can question that. I just think he has to get a bigger umbrella and get more quality people under that umbrella. What none of us no ? What does Bloomquist want to do after his driving days ? Will he hire a driver ? Will he start producing more cars ? Or will the G.O.A.T ride off into the sunset ? He's never really revealed what his plans are.
