Donald McIntosh Crowned Schaeffer’s Oil SNBS Champ
Dawsonville, Georgia (11/21/17) – On Saturday evening Donald McIntosh put a wrap on the 2017 season as well as his time in the Blount Motorsports #7 XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Vic Hill Racing Engine Super Late Model.
The Georgia-standout raced to a runner-up finish in the 50-lap event at Boyd’s Speedway. He also collected over $15,000 in point’s money from the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series.
“It was an emotional day for sure. We have spent a lot of time together over the last three years and leaving the team is like leaving family,” said McIntosh, “Sad about leaving, but excited about what is coming up. The 2018 season is looking to be the most ambitious one so far in my career. Right now, I’m just focused on trying to get everything into place.”
Donald McIntosh made the trip to Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia) on Saturday night to take part in the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series season finale.
With 26 Super Late Models on hand for the annual Gobbler, McIntosh recorded the fastest time in qualifying, which positioned him on the pole for the feature. With $5,000 on the line, Donald led the first 33 laps of the finale before Brandon Overton took control of the top spot.
McIntosh would go on to finish in the runner-up spot behind Overton. Jadon Frame, Riley Hickman, and Devin Moran completed the Top-5 finishers.
With his runner-up finish on Saturday, Donald McIntosh captured the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series points championship. He also was crowned the overall champion for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series, Spring Nationals, and Southern Nationals. His total point’s earning was $15,106.
