I said the something where the DIRTcar Fall Nationals. It will be interesting to find out if the event has been moved to another track or not.

First late model spring race is now $5K to win instead of 2 or 3.

Sucks to hear no UMP Fall nationals; I know the weather has been bad for this the past couple years, but this is one of my favorite races of the season.

Maybe Waynesfield will get the UMP Nationals. Really the UMP Nationals should pay 20,000 to win and 2,000 to start for late models, 10,000 to win and a 1,000 to start for mods and be ran Saturday Night and Sunday like the old days. Might get 40 or 50 late models, and 100 to 120 mods. Maybe run it 2nd weekend of October?

Also wont see a big uptick in car count for the April 28th race maybe 30 lates, 40 mods, and 20 stocks.

I wonder how much the rule changes at Eldora last year and the very low car counts for the early season late model race and the fall nationals had to do with that race being dropped from the schedule. It doesn’t look good to have a “National” event with barely a full field of cars. It used to draw a great field and was practically a crown jewel event. The format change to 3 nights, the rule changes, the lack of purse increases, and the greater number of other tracks still racing that weekend may have all contributed to the demise of the late model portion of the event.

If the fall nationals is held anywhere else, it should be Fairbury.

I would also say Fairbury. Tri-City would be a good candidate as well.

Wonder why they never post the purse to win on all of their races? Got something to hide?

Wait to see how many cars show up and base it on car count???

Or, the first place money is a couple grand and they are too ashamed to post it. lol

Put a dolled up name on the event and that's all you need!!! hahahahahahaa

The legacy and name will take care of the rest!!!

I agree with clayton. the American late models purse hasn't changed much in 30 years. in may and sept. they raised it a little, but it should be $5000 always at Eldora. the place may look empty because it is so big, but there is still probably way enough of a crowd to support the purse. I don't think there are more than 2-3 cars that follow the show around in points. it's just not worth it.

Yes any event should pay $5K at this track. Simply because of the attendance being so much more than most any other track.
