Kinzer Motorsports Concludes 2017 Campaign with Seventh Place Gobbler Effort

(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) Brandon Kinzer and his #18 team wrapped up their version of the 2017 racing season on Saturday, November 18 with the 29th edition of the 'Gobbler' at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia. A solid field of 26 competitors signed into the pit area for the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series finale, which paid $5,000 to the winner. Brandon tripped the clock third fastest in his group during the time trial session and later picked up the win in his consolation event.

The Lexington, Kentucky driver then rolled off from the outside of the third row in the daytime affair and quickly moved up to the fourth position in the 50-lap contest. Unfortunately, BK zigged when he should have zagged on a couple of different occasions and lost a trio of spots - eventually slipping back to seventh at the unfurling of the checkered flag. Complete results from the 'Gobbler' can be accessed by pointing your web browser to www.southernnationalsseries.com.

The Kinzer Motorsports team – in their first season affiliated with Shane McDowell Racing – entered twenty-six (26) events during the course of their 2017 campaign and while they were unable to reach victory lane, they did accumulate ten (10) Top Ten efforts. Brandon’s best finish came back on August 4 when he ran fourth in a $3,000 to win Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Series program at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky. He also flashed serious speed in several high-profile, late-season specials including the ‘World 100’ at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio and the ‘World Finals’ at Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina, where he qualified well and transferred into both $12,000 to win features.
