Pierce just dumped Weiss.

Definitely looked like it was all Pierce watching it live but on the replay it looked like Weiss moved up to pinch off Pirece and Pierce kept his nose in there. Quite the battle before that. VERY aggressive driving on both their parts but highly entertaining.

It was Shaw's 3rd career WWSO win

He's really run well with that new Moyer car. Like they said, 34 wins last year and a WISSOTA Championship. Always seems to run well in AZ. too but just doesn't run much open stuff overall. Didn't even race the USA Nationals even though Cedar Lake is about an hour away from his home.

It's really not that big of an upset. Only people who don't pay attention don't know how good he's been, especially in 2017.

He did have a great 2017, but a week or two ago not many would have said after two rounds of the WWS that Weiss and Shaw would have wins. No disrespect, just reality. Now looking ahead, it’s possible one or both might win again!

Over shadowed by the wreck and fussing, but did they ever say what happened to the engine? Was a repair made or did they swap? I assume if he swapped engines there isn't one of those rules about starting tail?

I believe it dropped a valve and they did swap out motors just in time.

Don't think they have rule for engine swap go to the rear. But talking about motors, look like Vick Hill motor two for two so far.

It would take more clean up time than you have for a valve problem. Change them out is best. Also if you have a valve or cam problem, it usually happens the first night out and usually a material problem. It happens to everyone sooner or later.

Not sure if it's 'the difference' or not, but the family car does not have a Durham engine.
